Job Description:
The Museum Education Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs within a museum setting, with a focus on social sciences, specifically anthropology. This role requires a deep understanding of anthropology and its applications in the museum education field. The Museum Education Specialist will collaborate with museum staff, educators, and researchers to design and deliver engaging and interactive educational experiences for visitors of all ages.
Responsibilities:

- Develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and educational resources for use in museum programs and outreach initiatives.
- Conduct research on relevant anthropological topics to enhance educational content and contribute to the museum's knowledge base.
- Collaborate with museum staff to develop and implement exhibitions, ensuring educational opportunities are integrated effectively.
- Lead guided tours, workshops, and interactive activities, engaging visitors and promoting a deeper understanding of anthropology.
- Foster relationships with educational institutions and community organizations to expand outreach efforts and promote the museum's educational programs.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in museum education, anthropology, and social sciences to continuously enhance program offerings.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback collection, surveys, and assessment tools.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and interns involved in educational initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Museum Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering educational programs within a museum or cultural institution, with a specialization in anthropology preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of anthropological theories, concepts, and methodologies, and ability to apply them to educational programming.
- Strong research skills to gather and analyze relevant information for program development.
